The Abu Simbel Temple was built by King Ramesses II, one of the famous kings of the Pharaohs, south of Aswan, on the side of the village of Abu Simbel. It is a luxurious temple that is decorated with four seated statues attached to the rock representing the king. The height of one statue is (21) meters, and the internal columns are characterized by their human form. The temple is located on the western bank of the Nile River, 280 km south of the city of Aswan, where King Ramesses II carved two rock temples between 1290 and 1223 BC, as the temple is considered one of the architectural engineering miracles of the ancient Egyptians, in addition to how they were able to carve a temple entirely inside the rocky mountain. . You will find inscriptions showing King Ramses II fighting the Libyans and the Houthis in the Battle of Kadesh, then you will find at the end of the temple the Holy of Holies, where you will see a room that includes 4 statues of the god Ra Hor my sister, the god Amun Ra, the god Ptah and King Ramses II as it was believed in ancient times in the era of the Pharaohs in addition to A group of small rooms as storage for the Abu Simbel temple.
