DAY TRIP TO KOM OMBO AND EDFU TEMPLES FROM ASWAN

The temple is located on a high hill on the Nile River in the city of Kom OMBO, where the temple was built during the Ptolemaic era, especially during the reign of King Ptolemy VI, and the Romans made drawings and decorations on the walls after that. The Kom Ombo Temple was used in the past as a hospital, in addition to drawings of ancient games during the Pharaonic era, such as the fence game on the wall. The Ptolemies built the Temple of Kom Ombo to worship two gods, Sobek, or the “crocodile god,” and Horus, the “falcon god.” This is why the complex mainly consists of two parallel temples that include all the traditional components of such ancient Egyptian religious structures. And 123 kilometers north of the Egyptian city of Aswan is the (Temple of Edfu) or (Temple of Horus), and although its construction was in the era of the Ptolemies, it remains an open book that monitors the nature of the ancient Egyptian religion that occupied the Ptolemies during the centuries of ruling the country. The construction of the temple, which is described as the most luxurious among the Egyptian temples, began during the reign of Ptolemy III in the year 237 BC. The construction of this temple took about 100 years, as it was completed during the reign of Ptolemy XIII in the first century BC.
